Chicago Community Members,

Thank you all to those of you that attended our Generation KAC 2011 gala. It was a beautiful evening of excellent food, drinks, and company at 300 N. LaSalle next to the river. We had 8 additional Korean American organizations represented to show our community that there is someone for everyone. Our message is to get involved, and it doesn't have to be with KACC, but with an organization that aligns with your passion and goals.

I must say, the food vendors that came - Ai, Bob'n Grill, Chizakaya, Kat's Sweet Kreations, and the donated food from Hot Woks Cool Sushi and Chicago Food Mart (Joongboo) absolutely made everyone's night. KACC couldn't have asked for a better spread, and going to eat at any of these places will bring joy to your stomach.

If you were an attendee at our event, you would've received our Akira gift bag with all sorts of goodies: KoreAm Journal, Audrey magazine, gift certificates to all the restaurants listed, as well as Akira handouts (gift certificates, iphone cases, even a frisbee!). We truly had a great group of sponsors. Many thanks to those that contributed and helped with our event.

As we look forward to 2012, the KACC board is looking to initiate our mentoring program, expand our membership benefits, and bringing innovative programming for our community. There will be more collaboration than ever before to bring the best of Chicago's Korean Americans together to build a better and stronger KA community. I challenge each of you to get involved in some way, as our community is what we make of it. So let's make it the best we can!

Cheers,
Eugene Chang
KACC President
